In Memoriam

On December
28th, 2001 we were notified of the passing of Sherman Saylor.
Sherman was an Alpha Company member from the original group that trained at Fort
Lewis in that cold Winter of 1966. Although Sherman transferred to the HQ
Company before we deployed to Vietnam, he never forgot the Brothers that shared
in the hard work and sacrifices that transformed the men from civilians into a
cohesive Infantry Unit. He joined his buddies at the Grand Reunion last May and
spoke fondly of the reunion to family and friends. He will be missed at future
reunions. You left us too soon Brother.
Sherman was born on August 5, 1946 in Plainville, Kentucky. He was just 55 at the time of his death. Sherman was laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery in his hometown of Sidney, Ohio
